Verse Sokken is a socks company that originated from an enthusiasm for cars. This is an enthusiasm that many people share, and you as a reader may also recognize yourself in this. No? then you have still come to the right place because you are probably looking for a gift for someone who recognizes themselves in this! ;)

Okay now without fooling around. I am Jesse, founder and owner of Verse Sokken and since childhood I have been crazy about everything that has to do with cars and motorcycles. I got my driver's license at the age of 17 and immediately bought my first car at the age of 18, a Mini Cooper S! A fantastic driving car, but unfortunately it regularly needed love, which was reflected in many hours in the garage. In short, this car was a good teacher and this is where the tinkering started for me. A few years later I wanted something different. I had seen engine swaps many times on the internet and this piqued my interest. Finally I figured it out. I wanted an old Volvo 240 with a V8. I had bought an old Volvo 240 and so had the plan to install a V8 in it. To partly finance this, I sold my Mini. However, a unique opportunity then came my way. Lucacarmods, a content creator and company that partly inspired me, offered its own Volvo 240 V8 swap project for sale which was already about 70% finished! I couldn't pass up this opportunity and bought this project. I had slightly underestimated the amount of work and knowledge required to complete this project, which meant that the completion took longer than hoped, but after a two-year learning process I got everything working and neatly registered! I was proud to drive this fantastic car and wanted to share it, so I regularly posted photos on my Instagram @versevolvo and I soon noticed that this car was also liked by others!

I worked on this project in addition to the Entrepreneurship and Retail Management course that I was following at the time. I started this course because I wanted to start something for myself and learn how to do business! During this training I started investigating what kind of company really suits me. I was looking for something that I could express my creativity in and that I could combine with my passion for cars. I knew that there are many more people who share this passion for cars, so this is a target group that I understand well. But what do all these people have in common? They're all wearing socks! ;) So I thought; What if I make a cool design of my car and other cool cars and have it embroidered on socks? This is where the business idea was born! but now we still had to name it...

Strangely enough, I didn't have to think about this for long. The name came from a Dutch play on words years ago, before I even had the idea to start a sock company. One day my sock drawer was empty and I wondered; where are all my fresh socks? What translates to Verse Sokken in Dutch.

When I further developed the business idea, I didn't have to think long about a name, it had to be Verse Sokken !

The name was known and I had a product that I stood behind. I have now completed my training and it was time to register with the Chamber of Commerce to take my business plan to the next level, making Verse Sokken an official company since September 15, 2023!

The range is currently still small, but depending on the success and your enthusiasm, this may be expanded in the future!
